Jak wiadomo ślub jest dość kosztownym wydarzeniem. Należy zamówić i zapłacić za salę, orkiestrę, samochód, kwiaty na ślub, czasem także za nocleg dla gości. Rzadko jednak wspomina się o tak zwanych opłatach kościelnych.
Opłaty te są związane z zawarciem małżeństwa przed obliczem Boga. Zazwyczaj ksiądz pytany o kwotę odpowiada „co łaska”, czasem jednak są podawane konkretne liczby. Przykładowe koszty: zapowiedzi przed ślubem kosztują w granicach 100 zł, możliwość wzięcia ślubu poza swoją parafią (tzw. licencja) ok 150 zł. Należy do tego doliczyć komplet niezbędnych dokumentów (akt chrztu i bierzmowania) – 50 zł. Przed ślubem należy otworzyć kościół i przygotować go na ceremonię. Zajmuje się tym kościelny, którego zwyczajowo wynagradzamy „stówką”.
Kolejne koszty poniesiemy na muzykę rozbrzmiewającą w czasie zaślubin. Organista kościelny i chór zazwyczaj pobierają ok. 200-300 zł. O pozwolenia na fotografowanie i wideofilmowanie dbają zatrudnieni przez nas specjaliście, więc ten koszt mamy wliczony w inną usługę. Jeśli Młoda Para nie życzy sobie, aby w czasie ceremonii były zbierane datki an tacę należy zrekompensować to kościołowi jednorazową opłatą w wysokości 100 zł.
Kolejne koszty to dekoracja kościoła. Jeśli zatrudniliśmy profesjonalną firmę florystyczną, która wykona Nasze kwiaty na ślub, to nic nie dopłacamy. Jeśli jednak chcemy, aby dekoracją zajął się kościół należy przygotować się na opłatę rzędu 400-500 zł za dekoracje na ławkach oraz przystrojenie ołtarza. Nie należy także zapominać o opłatach za zużycie prądu i ogrzewania w czasie uroczystości, które należy wnieść w kancelarii. Należy też pamiętać o opłatach za sprzątnięcie sali kościelnej po ślubie.
Wiele Par ma pretensje do kościoła, że „zarabia” na ich Wielkim Dniu. Należy pamiętać, że większość opłat rekompensuje jedynie poniesione z okazji uroczystości koszty. Czy tego chcemy czy nie, żyjemy w społeczeństwie konsumpcyjnym. Od wielu lat ślub nie jest tylko wielkim wydarzeniem duchowym, ale także przedsięwzięciem materialnym.
